Why Glasscoat
Glasscoat was developed several decades ago for use in the industrial coatings industry for corrosion protection of steel and concrete. Over the past 35 years, Glasscoat has been specifically modified to be used in swimming pools.
The use of inert, corrosion-resistant polymeric materials for resurfacing pools is revolutionary, as the traditional materials used have been cement-based plaster finishes. Unfortunately, plaster surfaces are porous and break down in pool water over time – becoming spalled, rough, and stained.
Glasscoat is not subject to degradation in the presence of hot water or pool chemicals. Thus, it outperforms all other pool resurfacing materials including basic white marble and specialty plasters, quartz finishes, and pebble aggregate type plasters.
General characteristics of Glasscoat:
- Corrosion-resistant and waterproofing properties.
- Low life-cycle cost.
- Much longer service life than competing materials.
- Virtually no periodic maintenance.
- Excellent aesthetic retention over service life.
- Better warranty compared to competing materials.
- Written specifications compared to plaster.
- Outperforms all pebble and quartz materials and PVC liners.
- Overall reduction in pool operating costs.
- 35-year track record in commercial pools.
- Specified by Aquatic Consultants.
